From a Professional Advisor's
Perspective
Here's what a few professional advisors in Michigan
have to say about working with community
foundations... |

Dirk
Hoffius believes working with his
community foundation adds value to his client
relationships. Dirk has found that "everyone is
interested in philanthropy in their community because
they care about the quality of life that surrounds them,
their family, their peers, their customers, and their
friends. People want to be asked what matters to them in
society. They want to be encouraged in their vision of
what they can achieve as community-minded individuals,
and supported in their desire to contribute to what is
good in their community. A community foundation is a
resource that enables people to be charitable in a very
personal and meaningful way."

Chris Christ views community
foundationa as a great way to recommend charity without
recommending a specific charity. "The community
foundation is more global than a single-purpose
charity," says Chris. "It's a nuetral party, an
impartial organization, established to improve and
enrich the quality of life in the community."
